Nearly all out machines here at Anco are considered CNC or Computer Numerical Controlled.  We have been in the business for over 35 years and now what machine is best for your job.  CNC basically refers to the automation of machining tools. These large machines such as lathes, drill presses and saws are now controlled via computer instead of manually.  A computer program controls the machine telling where to cut and or bend etc.  The first CNC machines were originally made in the 1940’s and 50’s.  Machinists took existing tools and modified them with motors.  

These motors would move via points fed into a system of punch tape (old school computer programming!).  The early machines were quickly changed and modified with analog and digital computers controls making what we know now as CNC. The entire machining industry and tooling that comes with it has been revolutionized by this advancement.  Now, more jobs can be implemented and produce win a fraction of the time while reducing the operator’s exposure to cutting and moving parts.   CNC systems are now being coupled with CAD (computer aided design) and CAM (computer aided manufacturing) programs which allow for more versatility and accuracy.   Anco has some of the newest and most advanced CNC machining systems available!  Many jobs might require different tooling, drills, bits etc.  

Machines are now equipped with multiple tool cells which allow for different tools to be loaded via the computer controlled system.  We no longer have to load every tool one at a time.  One machine can now operate via computer and handle a multitude of different jobs without having to be touched!  Without these ‘multiple tool cells’ a number of different machine would need to be used to complete the same task that one modern CNC machine can do.  No matter what job you require, Anco and our high tech CNC machines can handle it.  We offer a wide array of CNC services here at Anco.  Our CNC Milling and Turning machines are top-of-the-line.
